Call. Meet. Message. Anywhere.

Unified communications brings calling, video meetings and messaging into a single platform, so people collaborate the same way on any device, in the office, at home or on the move. The Cisco Webex Suite is the platform Proactive leads with: Webex Calling, Webex Meetings and Webex messaging in one app, with presence, file sharing and an AI assistant built in. It replaces the tangle of separate tools with one experience.

As a Cisco Preferred Collaboration Partner, Proactive designs, deploys and manages the Webex Suite for enterprises, integrates it with Microsoft Teams where that is your standard, and drives the adoption that turns licences into daily use. One platform, one login, one way of working, across the whole organisation.

Calling, Meetings, Messaging in One App

The Webex App brings your phone, video meetings and team messaging together, so people stop switching between disconnected tools.

The Same Experience Everywhere

The same calling, meetings and chat on a laptop, mobile or desk device, so work moves with people rather than staying at a desk.

Works with Microsoft Teams

Webex Calling can provide telephony for Microsoft Teams users, and Cisco's certified room and desk devices run Microsoft Teams Rooms natively, so a Teams-standard organisation still gets Cisco-grade calling and rooms.

AI Built In

The Cisco AI Assistant adds noise removal, meeting summaries and real-time translation, so meetings are clearer and more accessible.

One Platform to Manage

Calling, meetings and messaging under one admin console and one vendor, instead of several subscriptions and portals to reconcile.

Unified Communications: One Platform for How People Work

Unified communications (UC) is the integration of an organisation's communication tools, calling, video meetings, messaging, presence and file sharing, into a single platform and, ideally, a single application. Delivered from the cloud it is often called UCaaS (unified communications as a service). The Cisco Webex Suite is a leading UCaaS platform: it combines Webex Calling (the phone system), Webex Meetings (video meetings and webinars) and Webex messaging (persistent team spaces) in one app, with an AI assistant and a large device ecosystem. Proactive designs and delivers UC on Webex.

The problem UC solves is fragmentation. Most organisations accumulated their communication tools separately, a phone system here, a meetings tool there, a chat app somewhere else, each with its own login, identity and admin, none of them quite joined up. People waste time switching apps and copying context between them, and IT manages a patchwork of vendors. Unified communications collapses that into one platform where a chat can become a call and then a meeting without leaving the app, on whatever device someone is using.

What Unified Communications Includes

  • A complete unified communications platform is built from a few standard parts:
  • Calling: cloud telephony, the phone system, inside the same app (Webex Calling).
  • Meetings: video meetings, webinars and screen sharing (Webex Meetings).
  • Messaging: persistent team spaces, chat and file sharing (Webex messaging).
  • Presence and mobility: one identity and status across laptop, mobile and desk device.
  • AI assistance: noise removal, summaries, translation and more (Cisco AI Assistant).
  • Interoperability: works alongside Microsoft Teams and standards-based systems.

Why Unified Communications? Why It Matters Now

  • One experience: calling, meetings and messaging in one app, not three disconnected tools.
  • Built for hybrid: the same way of working in the office, at home or on the move.
  • Less to manage: one platform and vendor instead of several subscriptions and consoles.
  • Faster collaboration: a message becomes a call becomes a meeting without switching apps.
  • AI advantage: assistants make meetings clearer and more accessible.
  • Consolidation: retiring overlapping tools cuts cost and simplifies security.

The value of unified communications is not any single feature; it is the removal of friction. When calling, meetings and messaging live in one app with one identity, the small frictions that add up across a day, finding the right tool, logging in again, losing the thread of a conversation, disappear. People collaborate more because it is easier to, and IT supports one platform instead of refereeing between several. That is why UC has become the default for enterprise communication.

But a UC platform delivers that value only if people actually adopt it, and adoption is where many rollouts fall short. Buying Webex licences and leaving staff to work it out means half the organisation keeps using the old tools and the investment is wasted. The value is in a planned rollout, migrating people off the legacy apps, training them, and integrating UC with the tools they already use, so the new way of working becomes the normal one.

Proactive delivers the Webex Suite as a managed outcome, not a licence drop. We design the deployment, integrate it with Microsoft Teams and your existing systems where needed, run structured adoption so people actually use it, and manage it afterwards. As a Cisco Preferred Collaboration Partner, we make sure the platform becomes how your organisation actually works, not shelfware.

What the Webex Suite Brings Together

Unified communications is defined by what it unifies. The table below sets out the pillars of the Webex Suite.

Pillar What it does Webex product
Calling Cloud telephony, the phone system Webex Calling
Meetings Video meetings and webinars Webex Meetings
Messaging Team spaces, chat and file sharing Webex App
Presence and mobility One status and identity, any device Webex App
AI assistance Noise removal, summaries, translation Cisco AI Assistant

You can adopt the suite in full or start with one pillar and grow. Proactive sequences it to your priorities, often calling first, then meetings and messaging.

Separate Tools or One Platform: What Changes

The case for unified communications is clearest against the patchwork it replaces. The table below compares separate point tools with a unified platform.

Aspect Separate point tools Unified Communications (Webex)
Calling A PBX or separate calling app Built into one app
Meetings A standalone meetings tool Same app, same identity
Messaging A separate chat app Same app, persistent spaces
Experience App switching, multiple logins One app, one login, any device
Management Multiple vendors and consoles One platform, one admin

Consolidation is the point: fewer tools, one experience, one place to manage. Proactive plans the move so the old tools are retired cleanly rather than lingering alongside the new.

Unified Communications Across India: Distributed Teams, Compliant Calling

For Indian enterprises, unified communications has become central to how distributed, multi-city and hybrid teams work, and the same regulatory point that governs cloud calling applies here: because the Webex Suite includes calling, its deployment must respect India's DoT and OSP rules on how calls reach the public network. UC is not only a productivity choice; the calling within it has to be architected for compliance.

How to migrate a workforce off a patchwork of old tools, how to integrate with an existing Microsoft estate, and how to keep the calling compliant, shape the right design here rather than on a datasheet. Proactive has deployed the Webex Suite across manufacturing, BFSI, healthcare, IT, ITeS and GCC customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad, with rollouts that reach daily use.

Proactive Data Systems: The Partner That Turns Licences Into Daily Use

The platform is the easy part. Migrating people off their old tools, integrating with Microsoft Teams and your existing systems, keeping the calling compliant, and driving usage to daily habit is where a rollout succeeds or stalls.

Proactive brings over three decades of enterprise delivery, certified Cisco collaboration engineers and an ISO 9001:2015 quality system. As a Cisco Preferred Collaboration Partner certified across all five Cisco architectures, Collaboration, Networking, Security, Cloud and AI, and Services, we design, deploy and manage unified communications on the Cisco Webex Suite.

Unified communications is the software layer of the collaboration stack. It includes the calling covered in depth under Cloud Calling, adds the meetings and messaging around it, and comes to life on the devices under Endpoint and Remote Work Devices and in the spaces built under. When Proactive runs it for you, that is part of Digital Workplace Services

From design and Microsoft Teams integration through migration, structured adoption and managed operations, Proactive makes the Webex Suite the single way your organisation calls, meets and messages.

What is unified communications (UC)?

Unified communications (UC) is the integration of an organisation's communication tools, calling, video meetings, messaging, presence and file sharing, into a single platform and ideally a single app. Instead of a separate phone system, meetings tool and chat app, UC brings them together so a conversation can move from message to call to meeting without switching tools, on any device. The Cisco Webex Suite is the UC platform Proactive delivers.

What is UCaaS?

UCaaS (unified communications as a service) is unified communications delivered from the cloud as a subscription, rather than run on hardware and servers you own. It gives you calling, meetings and messaging as a managed cloud service that updates continuously and scales per user. The Webex Suite is a leading UCaaS platform. Delivering UC this way removes the infrastructure and turns communication into a predictable operating cost.

What is the Cisco Webex Suite?

The Cisco Webex Suite is Cisco's unified communications platform, bringing Webex Calling (the cloud phone system), Webex Meetings (video meetings and webinars) and messaging in the Webex App (persistent team spaces) into one experience, with presence, file sharing, the Cisco AI Assistant and a large ecosystem of devices. It is one platform for calling, meetings and messaging, on any device, and the suite Proactive leads with for unified communications.

What is the difference between unified communications and cloud calling?

Cloud calling is one part of unified communications. Cloud calling is specifically the phone system, the telephony. Unified communications is broader: it adds video meetings and messaging to that calling, all in one app. On the Webex Suite they are one integrated experience, but we present Cloud Calling as its own solution because many enterprises start there, replacing the PBX, and add the rest of UC around it. In short, calling is a pillar; UC is the whole suite.

Does the Webex Suite work with Microsoft Teams?

Yes. The Webex Suite is built to interoperate with Microsoft Teams: Webex Calling can provide enterprise telephony inside Microsoft Teams (via Cisco Call for Microsoft Teams), and Cisco's certified room and desk devices run Microsoft Teams Rooms natively. So an organisation standardised on Teams for meetings and chat can still use Cisco-grade calling and room systems. Proactive designs the right Webex-and-Teams combination for your environment rather than forcing an either-or.

Should we use Webex or Microsoft Teams?

It does not have to be either-or. Many Indian enterprises run Microsoft Teams for chat and meetings and Cisco Webex for enterprise calling and meeting rooms, because the two interoperate: Webex Calling can provide telephony inside Teams, and Cisco's certified devices run Microsoft Teams Rooms natively. The right answer depends on your existing estate, your calling and compliance needs, and your rooms. Proactive designs the combination that fits, rather than forcing a single platform.

What is the difference between UC and video conferencing or room systems?

They are the software and the hardware sides of the same collaboration. Unified communications is the platform and app, calling, meetings and messaging that a person uses from a laptop or mobile. Video conferencing and room systems are the devices and rooms, the cameras, screens, microphones and room kits, that bring that collaboration into physical meeting spaces. UC is what runs in the room; the room systems are what you install in it. Proactive delivers both, as separate but connected solutions.

What AI features does Webex include?

The Cisco AI Assistant adds capabilities across the suite: background noise removal for clearer calls, real-time meeting summaries and action items, message and meeting recaps, and real-time translation across 100-plus languages. These reduce the friction and fatigue of hybrid meetings and make collaboration more accessible. Proactive helps enable and adopt these features as part of a Webex deployment.

Do we have to move everything at once?

No. Unified communications can be adopted in stages. Many enterprises start with cloud calling, replacing the PBX, then add meetings and messaging, retiring the old tools as they go; others begin with meetings. Proactive sequences the rollout to your priorities and existing contracts, so you move at a pace the organisation can absorb rather than in one disruptive switch.

How do you make sure people actually adopt it?

Adoption is planned, not assumed. Proactive runs structured adoption alongside the technical deployment: identifying champions, training users by role, communicating the change, retiring the old tools so people cannot fall back to them, and tracking usage to see where adoption lags and address it. This is the difference between licences that sit unused and a platform the whole organisation actually works on, and it is a core part of how we deliver UC.

Is the calling in the Webex Suite DoT and OSP-compliant in India?

Yes, and it must be. Because the Webex Suite includes calling, its deployment in India is subject to the same Department of Telecommunications and OSP rules that govern cloud calling, on how calls break out to the public network. Proactive architects the calling within your UC deployment to be DoT and OSP-compliant by design, the same way we do for standalone cloud calling. Compliance is built into the UC design, not treated as an afterthought.

What determines the cost of unified communications?

Unified communications is licensed per user per month, so cost is driven by the number of users and the suite tier you choose, for example calling only, meetings only, or the full suite with calling, meetings, messaging and AI, plus any devices and managed services. Because it consolidates several separate tools, the honest comparison is against the combined cost of the phone system, meetings tool and chat app it replaces. Proactive helps model that and picks the right tier per user group.
