The US-based insurance giant faced a primary challenge related to poor resource distribution affecting backend processes and storage management. This resource allocation challenge weakened the existing infrastructure, leading to improper resource distribution across different departments and teams. This US-based insurance giant with its legacy technology was unable to keep up with modern workload demands. Its underperformance resulted in underutilized hardware resources and inefficient processing power.
There were multiple remote & hybrid coordination challenges due to connectivity issues. These ranged from network latency to compatibility issues with remote access tools, impacting productivity and collaboration. Also, limited individual contributions resulted in connectivity and accessibility challenges, limiting individual contributions from employees working remotely or in hybrid setups. It affected project timelines and overall efficiency.
Inadequate storage management practices resulted in misallocation of storage resources. This led to data fragmentation, increased backup and recovery times, and challenges in data lifecycle management. This not only increased costs but also hindered scalability and agility.
Proactive’s tech team thoroughly studied the challenges faced by the client. Addressing these challenges required a holistic approach that encompassed infrastructure modernisation, virtualisation, and improved resource management practices. The implementation of the 3-tier architecture consolidation into Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) and Citrix VDI solutions played a pivotal role in overcoming these hurdles and driving significant improvements in operational efficiency and user experience.
The transformation from a 3-tier architecture to hyperconverged infrastructure, coupled with Citrix VDI implementation, has significantly enhanced operational efficiency, resource utilisation, and user experience for the leading insurance giant.
This adoption of modern technology solutions for a pilot project for 100 systems in Noida & Jaipur locations, yielded positive outcomes. It addressed complex business challenges and drove sustainable growth. It further reduced annual costing with optimised resource allocation and lowered wastage.
This change improved the user experience and accessibility garnered positive feedback from users. Developers could efficiently utilise resources during remote work, contributing effectively to projects with an enhanced remote work capability. The centralised data storage and better resource distribution reduced storage mismanagement.
Due to the success of the pilot project, the client plans to scale up the solution:
