Cisco Duo is deployed across IT/ITeS, BFSI, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail in India. Each sector has distinct drivers for adoption.
IT/ITeS and GCCs. Client contracts from US and European enterprise customers increasingly require documented MFA as a condition of SOC 2 Type II certification. GCCs face parent company security mandates that require MFA across all remote access. Both pressures have accelerated Cisco Duo adoption in this sector.
BFSI. RBI Authentication Directions 2025, CERT-In CISG-2025-02, and SEBI CSCRF all require MFA for different aspects of banking and financial services operations. Banks deploy Cisco Duo for employee access to core banking systems, branch authentication, and vendor remote access. NBFCs and fintechs deploy it for loan origination platforms and payment system access.
Manufacturing. OT and IT convergence has created remote access requirements that legacy authentication cannot support. Automotive, pharmaceutical, and industrial engineering companies deploy Cisco Duo to secure vendor remote access to OT networks, SCADA systems, and plant historian platforms without replacing legacy infrastructure.
Healthcare. DPDPA 2023 requires reasonable security safeguards for personal health data. Hospitals and diagnostic chains deploy Cisco Duo for clinical system access, with shift-based session management and hardware tokens for environments where mobile devices are not permitted.
Retail and e-commerce. Payment data protection and DPDPA compliance drive adoption. Distributed store networks and third-party logistics partner access are the primary use cases.
Proactive Data Systems, a Cisco Preferred Security Partner, deploys Cisco Duo across all five sectors in India from offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Indore.
